Psalm 65
1 Praise waiteth for Thee, O God, in Sion:
and unto thee shall the vow be performed.
2 O thou that hearest prayer,
unto Thee shall all flesh come.
3 Iniquities prevail against me:
as for our transgressions, Thou shalt purge them away.
4 Blessed is the man whom Thou choosest,
and causest to approach unto Thee,
that he may dwell in Thy courts:
we shall be satisfied with the goodness of Thy house,
even of Thy holy temple.
5 By terrible things in righteousness wilt Thou answer us,
O God of our salvation;
Who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth,
and of them that are afar off upon the sea:
6 Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains;
being girded with power:
7 Which stilleth the noise of the seas,
the noise of their waves,
and the tumult of the people.
8 They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at Thy tokens:
Thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.
9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it:
Thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God,
which is full of water:
Thou preparest them corn,
when Thou hast so provided for it.
10 Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly:
Thou settlest the furrows thereof:
Thou makest it soft with showers:
Thou blessest the springing thereof.
11 Thou crownest the year with Thy goodness;
and Thy paths drop fatness.
12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness:
and the little hills rejoice on every side.
13 The pastures are clothed with flocks;
the valleys also are covered over with corn;
they shout for joy, they also sing.
Dear Arsenio, recently I have found myself in constant prayer,praying especially for others. I pray for the people at my job (people with alternative lifestyles, atheist, cancer, problems amongst co-workers), on the streets in the cars, homes, driving to work in the morning, anyone that i interact with, if I hear of situations or see people angry I pray silently. How can I pray for them and their salvation? I feel like just praying is not enough I need to tell them about the Lord and his goodness. Please help.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous Prayer:
ReplyDeleteYou can pray for a person's salvation, but, it's up to them to take Jesus' invitation. It's fine to pray for others even if they don't know Christ's plan of salvation. Here's where our part comes in; We should spread the good news (The Gospel)to as many as we come in contact with. What a better testimony than your personal experience, and who the Lord has blessed you? Family members, neighbors, and acquaintances are easy to speak to; The strangers aren't that easy to approach. However, be spontaneous when you feel that you should reach out to that individual and explain Jesus' plan of Salvation. remember, the Ethiopian reading the Bible on the side of the road; He told Peter: How can anyone understand the Scriptures unless someone explains it to them....That's where we come in. Pray that the Lord not only saves others, but, also open the doors for us to approach those seeking to know "Him".
God bless you, brethren.
Arsenio,
Maranatha.
Correction;;; The Ethiopian spoke to Timothy....Not, Peter!
ReplyDeleteTo add to what Bro Arsenio just said we should pray in our private moment that God lead us or bring some one who needs to know about Him to you.
ReplyDeleteBy being specific God knows that you are prepared to share with others His saving grace.
An inspired pen says : He who prays alone constantly will cease to pray. We must act also .. We must tell them of Gods plan of salvation.
There would be a time when must be bold for Christ.Gentle and wise but boldness is a character of the Holy spirit.Gods word is Authoritative,it has its own power to convict and convert souls.
We must present the message and leave the Spirit to work.
Thank you Arsenio and royal blood. This morning on my way to work as I entered my job I prayed a different prayer. I work in the Entertainment Industry (amongst some of the biggest stars in Hollywood)and it is so sad to see so many rich poeple happy & content with where they are, partying and drinking and indulging in feasts with mouths that spew out filth when they are angry(yet they do not know God). This morning as i was coming into work and entering the building I asked God to lead me to someone that needs to know him and help me to tell them about God's plan of salvation. Please pray for boldness for me. For I have this problem that happens when I speak to people, I get real nervous and forget all that I wanted to say, the words just don't come out. I have had problems with my memory(groing usp I was the smartest kid in my class) and i usually shy away from people because of this (yet I have so much to say) My life is a testimony & I want to tell poeple about how he saw me through it all and still does. He is all I know and ever knew. Having grown up amongst people who never wanted us(my siblings), a mom who commit suicide when i 8 years old, having to fend for ourselves because we had a dad that did not accept us because of our skin color. God leading me to the truth, bringing me from Africa to America, taking me away from being an idol worshipper, guiding me to the Adventist Church and saving me through my depression and addictive nature. Sometimes I wonder why & all I can find and go back to is that he loves me so. He is my rock & salvation, my strength, my best friend, my counselor. my mother & father a shoulder I have cried on when there was no one else to turn to, and I just want to tell others about his goodness and I cannot wait for him to come to take home.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous the very fact that you want to share God's goodness tells us the Holy spirit is with you and working in you. It is impossible to have the Holy spirit and not want to share God.
ReplyDeleteI tell you this God is more interested in saving others that you are. And once you offer yourself as an instrument for His Cause He will use you.
Didn't He use Moses who had a speech problem.
Did he not use the slave Girl in Naman's house.
The best instrument in Gods hands is one that humble himself and recognize his/her weakness.
We are at our best for God when we don not depend on self.
God will use you ..We are like vessels what we share is an overflowing from our experience with Jesus.what we can share is what spills over the brim.So if we can keep going to God seeking Him Daily in prayer in study if we can starve the carnal man and feed the spiritual we will be astonish as to what Jesus can accomplish through us.
Let us keep praying for each other.We will make it to the kingdom.
Asking for prayers for my sister Sharmaine Ora in South Africa. 4 weeks ago she was diagnosed with Bells Palsy and her condition has worsened with severe headaches. She is having difficulty eating and closing her eyes (conditions of the illness) Doctors are saying that she could have a brain tumor and have scheduled her for an MRI/CT scan in June. Please keep and our families in your prayers, we are all so far apart from each other which makes it very difficult.
ReplyDeleteI have been praying on your behalf since you first broke the news Am sure Arsenio and others will lift her up in Prayer.
ReplyDeleteThe same God who crossed the children of Israel,the same God who spoke to Moses in the burning bush,The same who guided the stone from the sling of David to conquer a giant.He has not change and will ever be the same.
We can count on Him, We can also count on His will to be done.
Vanessa:
ReplyDeleteGod Bless you Sister; May the Lord Almighty heal your Sister Sharmaine Ora; May she be delivered form her headaches, and may her condition improve. The Lord is able to save and heal; may He do both with your Sister; Above all worship Him and give glory to His Holy Name for He desires that we all are healthy and strong to further His Everlasting Gospel (His will) throughout the Earth.
Sister Vanessa, I will pray for her recovery and deliverance from these maladies. God bless you and Sharmaine. May the Lord also shorten the distance between you and your Sister.
